No, NASA astronauts in space haven’t received a distress call from an unknown planet. And we sure hope not that they will meet something akin to the dreaded ‘facehuggers’ from Ridley Scott’s Alien franchise when they go looking for signs of life in space. But they are going to look for the possibility of life on an orbiting lab.
Two NASA astronauts–Tracy C. Dyson and Matt Dominick– on the International Space Station (ISS), do have a different kind of spacewalk to do, one of the objectives of which is to “collect samples for analysis to understand the ability of microorganisms to survive and reproduce on the exterior of the orbiting laboratory.”

In simpler words, they are going to check whether living organisms can survive or are already there on the outside surface of that orbiting lab.
The other objective (the first, rather) is to remove a faulty electronics box from a comms antenna on the ISS.
According to NASA, astronauts Tracy C. Dyson and Matt Dominick will exit the ISS’s Quest airlock “to complete the removal of a faulty electronics box, called a radio frequency group, from a communications antenna on the starboard truss of the space station.”

Astronaut Tracy C. Dyson will be spacewalk crew member 1; she will be wearing a suit with red stripes. Matt Dominick will be spacewalk crew member 2; he will be in an unmarked suit. Why are we telling you this? Because you can see them live starting from 6:30 a.m. EDT (4PM IST) on Thursday, June 13.
According to NASA, the spacewalk is scheduled to start at 8AM and last about six and a half hours.
