Asteroid 2024 LZ2: This is a 63-foot asteroid that will get as close as 823,000 miles of Earth on June 14.
Asteroid 2024 LB4: This is an even bigger space rock.
Asteroid 2024 LU1: On the 4th spot is a 71-foot asteroid that is set to get within just 1,150,000 miles of Earth on June 17.

Next five asteroid approaches: There are a humongous number of asteroids buzzing about in the solar system. Fortunately, most of them are confined to the asteroid belt. However, many have escaped from there and are now posing some kind of threat to various planets and moons including Earth. It is essential to track these asteroids because over their long and unending journeys, they may have encountered various pulls and pressures that may well have altered their orbits. That means they may no longer be in the exact position or alignment that they should have been. After all, NASA itself has altered the course of one asteroid (along with its moonlet) with its DART mission and anything can happen out in space. So, which asteroids are approaching Earth? Here we list the next five asteroid approaches:
1. Asteroid 2024 LZ2: This is a 63-foot asteroid that will get as close as 823,000 miles of Earth on June 14. This house-sized asteroid is travelling at a fiery 9.23 kilometres per second.
2. Asteroid LL1: This is a 65-foot space rock, as big as a house. The closest it will get to Earth is 1,240,000 miles and that it will do on June 15. It is travelling at a speed of 9.22 kilometres per second.
3. Asteroid 2024 LB4: This is an even bigger space rock. Measuring some 94 feet, this asteroid will get as close as 1,800,000 miles of Earth on June 16. It is travelling at a mindboggling speed of 7.59 kilometres per second.
4. Asteroid 2024 LH3: A truly gigantic space rock! It is a 150-foot asteroid that will come as close as 3,090,000 miles to Earth on June 16.
5. Asteroid 2024 LU1: On the 4th spot is a 71-foot asteroid that is set to get within just 1,150,000 miles of Earth on June 17. This space rock is travelling at 7.11 kilometres per second.
While all these asteroids will get very close to the planet, know that NASA is tracking them through its various instruments and expects them all to fly by the planet.
