No Rain in Bengaluru: City to Witness Rainfall Directly in May? What Weather Experts Say

But for Bengaluru, it looks like the city will have to wait a bit longer for rain. Bengaluru: The IT hub of India, has been under a dry spell for over 3 months. According to the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no sign of rain in Bengaluru in April. Usually, dry spells in Bengaluru last for about 100-120 days, so this one is longer than usual. Earlier, it was forecasted by IMD that the Garden City would witness some rainfall within this week, but the latest report indicates that the city is nowhere near respite from the scorching heat.

As per a verified weather forecaster on X (Twitter), the dry spell is not just limited to Bangalore, other areas nearby like Mysuru, Hassan, Mandya, Ramanagara, Tumkuru, Kolar, and Chikkabalapura are also facing the same dry conditions. However, parts of Mysuru and Hassan might get some rain later this week. But for Bengaluru, it looks like the city will have to wait a bit longer for rain.

As per another solo forecaster on X, Karnataka Weather, there is a high chance for rain to visit the city in May.

The accumulated precipitation data from ECMWF and GFS forecasts no rainfall for Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka, except for the Ghats, in the next 10 days.

The expected "mango showers" for April might be inconsistent, with some areas experiencing them and others missing out. However, the major thunderstorms are anticipated to occur in May.

For this week, the weather forecast for the upcoming days shows a mix of partly cloudy and mainly clear skies across the region. On April 17 and 21, expect mainly clear skies with temperatures ranging from 21 degrees Celsius to 36 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, April 18 through 20th will see partly cloudy conditions, with temperatures remaining between 22 degrees Celsius and 36 degrees Celsius. This pattern persists on April 22, with the sky expected to be mainly clear. Overall, temperatures are consistent throughout the week, providing relatively stable weather conditions.
