'Not even Ambedkar ...': PM Modi takes on INDIA bloc's allegations of 'Constitution in danger'

PM Modi slams Congress for 'insulting' Ram by declining Ayodhya Pran Pratishta invite(With inputs from agencies)PM Modi ridicules INDIA alliance , says 'leaders fighting within for projection of prime ministerial candidate'NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday rejected the opposition 's charge of "Constitution being in danger" and said that even Babasaheb Ambedkar , who was the architect of the Constitution , would not be able to abolish it now. "The Constitution of the country is everything for the (BJP) government and even if Babasaheb Ambedkar himself comes, he cannot abolish the Constitution," the PM said while addressing rally in Rajasthan's Barmer. "The Constitution is Geeta, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bible and Quran for the government. For us, the Constitution is everything," PM Modi said.Criticising the Congress for aligning with anti-national elements, the PM said it was in fact the Congress that endangered the Constitution. "The Congress tried to destroy the Constitution by imposing emergency in the country and now it is taking cover in the name of the Constitution to abuse Modi," the PM said.Last month, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had alleged that the "ultimate goal of Narendra Modi and the BJP is to destroy Babasaheb's Constitution" after BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde 's statement that the party needs a two-thirds majority to amend the Constitution.The BJP had dubbed Hegde's remarks "personal opinion" and sought clarification from him.
