BATHINDA: After Bhagwant Singh ‘Pradhan Mantri’ Bajeke announced to contest the Punjab assembly byelection from Gidderbaha, another fellow National Security Act (NSA) detainee of new MP Amritpal Singh , Kulwant Singh Raoke , 38, now wants to run for Barnala’s legislator.Cousin Maha Singh claimed that Kulwant had asked him to contact the panthic organisations for support.Kulwant, a Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) employee from Raoke Kalan in Moga district, was arrested under the NSA in March 2023 as an accomplice of Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh and lodged in the Dibrugarh central jail of Assam with the Khalistan advocate.His father, Charat Singh, had faced the NSA in 1987 and never returned since police had picked him up in March 1993.Charat’s younger brother, Gurmail Singh, died in June 1984’s military raid on the Golden Temple to flush out terrorists led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
