Speaking to OTV, BJP's Bari candidate, Umesh Chandra Jena, who is pitted against BJD candidate Biswaranjan Mallick, said that the constituency will see a tough fight in the upcoming elections and the BJP will win.

Jena added, "People of Bari will break the arrogance of the ruling party this time. The Bari Assembly segment, where 80 per cent of people depend on agriculture, has no irrigation facility and cold storage. The BJD government has not done anything to develop agriculture in the last 25 years."

The government has neglected all sectors and the people will give the BJD a befitting reply, he observed.

'People know who is doing what'

Shambhunath Rout expressed his happiness on being nominated as MLA candidate for Ghasipura.

He said, "I belong to a middle-class family. The BJP has reposed faith in me. I will carry on my service to the common people here. The people of Ghasipura are well aware of which leaders are doing what for them. Common people know what the Modi government has been doing for the people.”

A point worth mentioning here is that Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik during his recent visit to Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple had hinted about the possibility of fighting the poll from the Ghasipura Assembly seat and said that he has got an offer from the BJP.
