“One of the happiest days of my life” — new Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha ecstatic to be in Germany

Bayern Munich finally got its man in Fulham FC defensive midfielder João Palhinha, who inked a four-year deal earlier today.

Palhinha could not hide how thrilled he was.

“This is one of the happiest days of my life. I’m now playing for one of the top clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me, and I’m very proud of that. I’m looking forward to the atmosphere and the fans at the Allianz Arena. I want to enjoy success with FC Bayern and win titles - I’ll give it my all,” Palhinha told FCBayern.com.

Palhinha would later expand on his feelings in an interview with FCBayern.com (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

“It’s a very proud moment in my life. I feel proud for what I’ve reached. Hopefully we’ll keep writing history and winning trophies. That’s the most important thing for me. Signing for a big club like Bayern makes every player proud. My dream since I was young was to play at this high level. It’s special for me and my family and a big reason for us to feel proud,” said Palhinha, who will wear #16 in Bavaria. “I give everything on the pitch. I like to do recovery balls, tackles, I’m an aggressive player, I like to play long balls as well. I’ll give everything for this club.”

When asked what he wanted to achieve at Bayern Munich, Palhinha did not pull any punches: “Trophies, trophies and trophies.”
