According to a report by David Ornstein of The Athletic (so, basically 100% true), Bayern Munich have contacted Crystal palace over the possibility of signing French winger Michael Olise.
Newcastle United + Bayern Munich contact Crystal Palace over possibility of signing Michael Olise.
Neither Chelsea nor Newcastle can boast CL football for the upcoming season, giving Bayern Munich a major advantage in the race.
Is this why Bayern Munich are allegedly ready to sell Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich?
Given that Ornstein’s report only says that Bayern Munich have asked “permission” to speak to the player, things are still in the very early stages.
According to a report by David Ornstein of The Athletic (so, basically 100% true), Bayern Munich have contacted Crystal palace over the possibility of signing French winger Michael Olise. The 22-year-old scored 10 goals and registered six assists in the Premier League last season, despite ~1,200 minutes due to repeated hamstring injuries.
Newcastle United are also in the mix.

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, Chelsea are also interested in the winger, but a transfer may not be straightforward. The player has a £60m release clause in his contract, but apparently it’s only valid for Champions League clubs. Neither Chelsea nor Newcastle can boast CL football for the upcoming season, giving Bayern Munich a major advantage in the race.
Still, £60m for a 22-year-old with a spotty injury record — that might be pushing it, even for Bayern. The club is known to be searching for new wingers, to replace the flagging output of Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry. Michael Olise is the first “big name” linked with the club this summer, with most rumors so far centered around Stuttgart winger Chris Führich.
Will Max Eberl and Christoph Freund get this one over the line? Is this why Bayern Munich are allegedly ready to sell Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Kimmich?
