Police officials have stated that the man admitted to killing his wife and seven children and stated that he did so since he could not feed his family anymore.

Lahore: A Pakistani man allegedly killed his wife and seven children with an axe on Thursday. As per police authorities, the man axed his family as he was unable to feed them.

Sajjad Khokhar, a labourer, attacked his wife 42-yeaer-old wife Kausar, and their seven children with an axe. The children - four daughters and three sons, aged between eight months and 10 years were also killed with an axe.

Punjab Police stated that the man was "mentally disturbed" due to financial stress and would often argue and fight with his wife.

The man has been arrested and a case has been registered against the murder of his family. The suspect has confessed to the crime and informed the police about the motive.

Police officials have stated that the man admitted to killing his wife and seven children and stated that he did so since he could not feed his family anymore.

As per The Express Tribune, the man surrendered himself to the police hours after killing his family.

Newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab - Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed her condolences and has sought a report from the Inspector General of Punjab Police.
