Earlier, on Saturday, India Today-Axis My India exit poll prediction showed that Prajwal Revanna could defeat Congress candidate Shreyas Patel.
In 2019, Prajwal Revanna defeated BJP's A Manju Hassan by a margin of 1.4 lakh votes.
The JD(S) and BJP did not forge an alliance in the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
The BJP had swept the previous Lok Sabha elections, bagging 25 seats, while an independent backed by it also won.

The scandal over Revanna broke soon after the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls concluded in Karnataka on April 26.

At 12.06, Prajwal Revanna got 3,94,564 votes and was trailing by a margin of 10,030 votes against Shreyas Patel who received 4,04,594 ballots, ECI data showed.
The BJP was ahead in 16 seats, Congress in 10 and JD(S) in 2 as per counting trends in 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka on Tuesday, according to Election Commission officials.

JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi (BJP) were ahead in the Mandya and Dharwad Lok Sabha segments, respectively, according to official sources, news agency PTI reported.
Karnataka is the most important state for the BJP in south India as it's only here that it had held power in the past.

The JD(S), headed by former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, had emerged victorious in one constituency. The Congress and the JD(S) were running a coalition government back then and had fought the election together.
The regional outfit joined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in September last year and fought the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the BJP, and is contesting three seats -- Mandya, Hassan and Kolar.
