DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi , saying, " Rahul Gandhi 's one sweet box shattered PM Modi's eight visits to Tamil Nadu. I can't forget Rahul Gandhi's affection ever," emphasizing the significant political impact Rahul Gandhi had in the state as the DMK swept the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing an event honouring all alliance leaders in the state, Stalin said, "This is a felicitation for all alliance leaders on stage, not only for MK Stalin", while acknowledging the collective effort of the alliance leaders in their recent successes.

Reflecting on past elections, Stalin drew a parallel to 2004 when the DMK achieved a 40/40 victory under Kalaignar's leadership despite the ADMK being the ruling government. "In 2004, pre-polls predicted Vajpayee would form the government at the center but Congress did. Similarly, now many said BJP will cross 400 seats but we have made BJP not cross the majority mark," he noted.

Stalin also addressed the recent election results, where the DMK won 39 out of 40 seats. He refuted claims that the victory was solely due to public dissatisfaction with the ADMK government, asserting, "If that's the case, the present victory shows the success of our government. But no one will say this."

Highlighting the strength of the alliances, Stalin stated, "Our alliance partners and us... We have an ideological relationship, not just a political relationship."

Stalin criticized the BJP's performance, noting that despite significant efforts, they only secured 240 seats on their own. "This is not Modi's victory, this is Modi's defeat. Because of Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish, Modi is sitting as PM. If they didn't give support, where is the majority for Modi?" he questioned.

Stalin concluded by saying that, having been denied a majority, the BJP "can't do anything as per their wish."
