Rally to mark World Liver Day at RBU

CHANDIGARH: Rayat Bahra University highlighted the need to address liver diseases by organising a rally on World Liver Day with the theme "No Liver, No Life." The initiative was aimed to draw attention to the pressing global issue of liver health and underscored the imperative for unified action.World Liver Day serves as a poignant reminder of the growing burden of liver diseases worldwide and the critical need for concerted efforts to combat this health crisis .Led by Dean of University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences (USPS) Dr Anju Goyal and head of USPS, Ramica Sharma, and event coordinators Gauri and Suraj Sharma, the rally saw active participation from students of pharmacy.Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra said liver diseases, fueled by factors such as alcohol consumption, obesity, viral hepatitis, and unhealthy lifestyle habits, continue to pose significant health challenges globally. Through initiatives like the rally organized by USPS, efforts were directed towards educating communities about the significance of early detection, lifestyle modifications, and access to quality healthcare services for liver-related ailments.Vice-Chancellor Dr Parvinder Singh expressed appreciation for the school's commitment to advancing public health awareness and applauded the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the students and faculty members.
