We’ve made it back and some more. We are in plus and have managed to break even. I now joke with my dad asking him to buy more properties so that I could sell them for my next film. He was scared that I would lose all my money on fast women and slow horses. So, he started saving on my behalf and bought a couple of flats in Mumbai,” said Randeep, adding that it took him two years to complete the film, which meant he couldn’t take up any other projects. He was very supportive. Most middle-class parents would never allow this but he did not think much about it and he said, ‘Okay, let’s do it’ And we did it.” Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, which opened at Rs 11.37 crore in its first week, has managed to earn Rs 23.99 crore as of Tuesday, according to sacnilk.com. Randeep is happy that the film is still being screened in theatres, however, he also highlighted that elections and IPL may have impacted the box office numbers.
