Ravi Atri has a notorious history, having been jailed for leaking the Pre-Medical Test exam paper in 2012 and the AIIMS PG exam paper in 2015. Recently, the UPSTF filed a chargesheet against Atri and 18 other accused in the constable recruitment scam.

Atri's connection to the NEET scandal came to light after Bihar Police's Economic Offences Unit (EOU) discovered evidence linking him to the paper leak mafia led by Sanjeev Mukhiya.

The EOU, under orders from the Union Education Ministry, is set to submit a detailed report on the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak, which includes a burnt question paper, OMR sheets, and other incriminating materials.

Atri and Sanjeev Mukhiya, though operating separately, are both involved in the business of leaking exam papers. Notably, Mukhiya's son, Dr Shiv Kumar, had studied alongside Atri.

In the NEET case, around 25 candidates were allegedly accommodated by Mukhiya at a boys' hostel in Patna, where they were provided with the leaked exam materials the day before the test.

Though Atri's direct involvement in the NEET paper leak hasn't been confirmed, his connection to Mukhiya's gang has raised suspicions. Atri remains behind bars due to the previous arrests, but his name has surfaced in the ongoing investigation due to these affiliations.
