Relief for TV9 Telugu, Delhi HC says transmission to continue unhindered

The plea sought for a declaration that disconnection/switching off of channel by VINSAT is in “wilful breach of Trai’s Interconnection Regulations, 2017 (as amended), Quality of Service Regulations, 2017” and contravenes agreement. The Delhi High Court Monday directed that the transmission of Andhra news channel TV9 Telugu will continue uninterruptedly on the same position as it existed before June 6, when it was disconnected by one of the service providers. A single-judge bench of Justice Mini Pushkarna recorded the submission made by the counsel appearing for Multi System Operator VINSAT Digital Pvt Ltd, service provider, that the “transmission of the channel of the petitioner is uninterrupted and unhindered and is going in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh”.
