RGV on 'Kalki' box office numbers: 'Makers need to dig a deep well to store money'

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma shared words of appreciation for the producers of 'Kalki 2898 AD' on his official X account on July 1. Congratulating producers Aswani Dutt and Swapna Dutt, the director joked that they need to dig a deep well to store the money that the sci-fi film is collecting. 'Kalki 2898 AD' is now marching towards Rs 600 crore worldwide. It has completed five days in theatres.

The 'Shiva' director also mentioned that the second part of 'Kalki 2898 AD' will rake in huge box office numbers as well.

His post on X read, "KUDOS to @AshwiniDuttCh and @SwapnaDuttCh for taking a GIANT LEAP OF FAITH on @nagashwin7 .. Both father and daughter will need to dig a deep well to store the money they are collecting , and will collect from PART 2 of #Kalki2898 (sic)."

For the unaware, Ram Gopal Varma did a special cameo in 'Kalki 2898 AD', which received a huge applause from the audience. The film had several cameos, including Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, KV Anudeep, Faria Abdulla and SS Rajamouli, among others.

'Kalki 2898 AD' is a sci-fi action adventure written and directed by Nag Ashwin. The mega-budget film is a blend of science fiction and Indian mythology. Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in lead roles, while Shobhana, Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, Disha Patani and Brahmanandam feature in supporting roles.
