Ronald Araujo claims Ilkay Gundogan apologised to him for his comments after Barcelona’s midweek defeat to PSG in the Champions League.
Araujo subsequently admitted he wasn’t too impressed with Gundogan’s words, sparking speculation there was a rift between the two players.
The defender was asked about the situation after El Clasico and said the two had talked and Gundogan had said he was sorry.
“It’s all clarified with Ilkay Gündogan, I spoke to him and he apologised.
I work hard for that and that is why I was able to get to this club.

Gundogan was critical of the team’s performance and suggested Araujo might have been better off not making the challenge on Bradley Barcola that resulted in a red card for the defender that changed the game.

The defender was asked about the situation after El Clasico and said the two had talked and Gundogan had said he was sorry.
“It’s all clarified with Ilkay Gündogan, I spoke to him and he apologised. It’s all good,” he told reporters.
“It’s been a sad week, but I’m strong mentally. I work hard for that and that is why I was able to get to this club. There is nothing to say about how much I give on the field, everyone knows that I cannot be reprimanded [about giving it all] on the pitch.”
