In an interview with Filmi Beat, Sharmin’s co-star and actor Taha Shah defended the actress and praised her acting skills and talent.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ is an eight-episode series revolving around pre-partitioned and pre-independent India. With the background showing the independence struggles in the 1940s, the story focuses on the life of tawaifs of Heeramandi in Lahore.
