During the run chase, Sri Lanka got off to a poor start with 14/2 at the end of 5 overs and 54/5 in 9 overs, they consistently kept losing wickets. The Dutch and Sri Lanka will yet again encounter each other on Monday, June 17 in Gros Islet.

On Tuesday, May 28, the Netherlands outclassed Sri Lanka by 20 runs in their face-off for a warm-up match at Central Broward Park, Lauderhill, Florida ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup which is set to kick start on Sunday, June, 2.

In the mentioned game which was not covered live by ICC, Wanindu Hasaranga won the toss for Sri Lanka and put the Dutch side to bat first. The 20-year-old opener, Michael Levitt went after the Lankan bowling and scored 54 off 28 balls before going off retired.

After being 123/4 at the 15-over mark, the Netherlands captain, Scott Edwards took it in his hands and helped them add 58 runs at the death, scoring 27 from 12. They ended at 181/5 in their 20 overs.

During the run chase, Sri Lanka got off to a poor start with 14/2 at the end of 5 overs and 54/5 in 9 overs, they consistently kept losing wickets. The Lankan side needed 55 off the last 6 with just 4 wickets in hand.

Thanks to fantastic efforts from Aryan Dutt who got a three-fer in just 1.5 overs while conceding 20 runs, Kyle Klein's 2 for 13 off his two and Logan van Beek's 1/8 in his two overs, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 161 runs with 7 balls spare, resulting in a 20 run win for the Europeans.

Sri Lanka will be starting their World Cup campaign against South Africa on Monday, June 3 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York whereas the Netherlands will face Nepal in their tournament opener on Thursday, June 4 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

The Dutch and Sri Lanka will yet again encounter each other on Monday, June 17 in Gros Islet.
