Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman departed from the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp due to his national commitments after delivering one of his best performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).

Rahman, a part of CSK's pace attack in the IPL 2024, scalped 14 wickets in the nine matches at an average of 22.71. He registered his best bowling figures of 4/29 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in this season.

The Bangladesh star credited former CSK captain MS Dhoni for sharing valuable tips in the dressing room which helped him to improve his game. In a picture shared on his official X account, Rahman was seen posing with Dhoni, along with his signed jersey.

"Thanks for everything Mahi bhai. It was a special feeling to share the same dressing room with a legend like you. Thanks for keeping faith in me everytime. Appreciating your valuable tips, I will remember those things," Rahman wrote in the post on X.

"Looking forward to meeting and playing with you again soon."

Rahman went wicketless in his last IPL 2024 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 1. There is no doubt that his departure will weaken the CSK battery as he was third in the race for the purple cap in the ongoing season.

He is set to join the Bangladesh camp for the home T20I series against Zimbabwe, starting on Friday. The 28-year-old will also be a part of the national team travelling to USA for a T20I series against the hosts which gets underway from May 21.
