Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s recent post about using hydrogen peroxide nebulisation has initiated a debate online.
Recently, Dr Cyriac Abby Philips aka “The Liver Doc” slammed the actress and called her a “health illiterate”.
Samantha also reacted to his criticism in a long post and asked him to be “polite”.
He wrote, “I understand and empathize with Samantha’s health condition and I wish her the very best.
My aim was her to leave behind medical misinformation peddling “doctors” who are using her vulnerability, and catering to her anecdotal experiences, for their gain.

The actress questioned The Liver Doc and asked him to be polite. “It would have been kind and compassionate of him had he not being so proactive with his words. Especially the bit where he suggests I should be thrown in prison. Nevermind. I suppose it goes with the territory of being a celebrity. I posted as someone who needs medical treatment and not as a celebrity,” she wrote.
And now, in a note, TheLiverDoc apologised to Samantha and criticised her doctors instead, calling them “businessmen” whose practices have been questioned by health boards. TheLiverDoc, who claims to have nearly a decade of medical practice, said that Samantha’s doctors, Mitra Basu Chillar and Dr. Jockers, are the worst examples in medical practice and not worth debating.
He wrote, “I understand and empathize with Samantha’s health condition and I wish her the very best. I apologize if she felt uneasy or bad the way the message was conveyed. That was unintentional. My aim was her to leave behind medical misinformation peddling “doctors” who are using her vulnerability, and catering to her anecdotal experiences, for their gain. I sincerely suggest that patients with chronic illnesses, please continue with evidence-based medical practices to remain inside a safety net and sanctuary.”

The doctor has earlier demanded a stern punishment against Samantha and stated that she should be put in jail. “In a rational and scientifically progressive society, this woman will be charged with endangering public health and fined or put behind bars. She needs help or a better advisor in her team,” he had written.
