An old video of superstar actor Rajinikanth asking the Sunrisers Hyderabad owner Kalanithi Maran to make daughter Kavya happy by picking a strong team for the Indian Premier League has gone viral on social media. Hyderabad finished last in IPL 2023, winning just four of 14 games. This year, they have been a force to reckon with.

Under Australia's ODI World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins , Hyderabad have been brilliant in IPL 2024 , winning five of their first seven games. On Saturday, they thrashed the Delhi Capitals by 67 runs at the latter's home to move to the second position in the IPL 2024 points table.

While Hyderabad have been making waves over the last month, a video of Rajinikanth from August 2023 is going viral again on social media. Watch the video here:

During IPL 2023, several pictures and videos of Kavya captured her in a dejected mood because of her team's poor performances. She is among the most popular franchise owners in the IPL besides Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta.

On Saturday, Rishabh Pant's emotional homecoming did not pan out into a dream script as Hyderabad adhered to their IPL 2024 template by out-batting Delhi in a 67-run victory.

It was Travis Head's 32-ball-89 and his carnage in unison with Abhishek Sharma (46 off 12 balls) that ensured another match-winning total of 266/7 for Hyderabad in their 20 overs.

A record Powerplay score of 125/0 gave Hyderabad the base and at one point, the first-ever 300-plus total in IPL looked a distinct possibility.

In reply, Jake-Fraser McGurk's aggressive and attractive 18-ball-65 raised visions of an improbable victory as he added 84 runs for the third wicket along with Abhishek Porel (42 off 22 balls) in just five overs.

Once Fraser-McGurk was gone, Delhi went off the boil and they were all-out for 199 in 19.1 overs. SRH next play the Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 25 at home.
