Two top terrorists associated with the Pakistan-based outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama on Monday, officials said.
The killed terrorists have been identified as Kashmir Valley operational commander Riyaz Shethri and his associate Rayees Dar.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the militants fired on a search party of the forces, who then fired back, the official said.
On May 7, the security forces killed two terrorists in a gunbattle in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam.
Basit Dar, who was an active operative of the Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-backed terrorist organisation, was among the terrorists killed in the gunfight.

The security agencies called the operation a "crippling blow" to the Lashkar's operational capability in South Kashmir.
