Laziness or tiredness becomes a big hindrance in our lives, as it disrupts our daily activities, rendering us almost useless. Usually, one needs a good amount of sleep to overcome being tired but some people may suffer from a condition, that they cannot avoid. Like this woman from the US, who is tired all the time.

Alyssa Davis struggled to keep her head up in school and during dance classes because she just kept dozing off. Initially, she thought that she simply was not getting enough sleep. But she felt something was wrong with her when she realized it was “impossible” for her to keep herself awake at all out of exhaustion.

So, the 26-year-old model from North Carolina, went for a medical opinion, where she claimed doctors just dismissed her case and asked her to “just drink coffee.” Then she took part in a medical sleep study, discovering that she suffered from a condition called idiopathic hypersomnia.

Talking to the media, she spoke about what she experiences daily, “It’s like being trapped in the Groundhog Day movie — except instead of reliving the same day, I just relive the same exhaustion.” According to her, sometimes it takes hours of planning for her to complete simple tasks. She added that this condition clouds her thinking, where even staying concentrated is a struggle.

She reveals that for something as simple as showering she has to prepare herself, as the exhaustion never goes away. She said, “I’ll sleep 10, 12, sometimes even 14 hours and still wake up feeling like I pulled an all-nighter.” She showed symptoms of the condition since she was a child, revealing how her mother had to frequently put her down for napping.
