In a tweet which ignited a flurry of engagement on social media platforms, the 54-year-old didn't include the skipper of the Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya, into the scheme of things, with him rather going for the ever-dynamic Suryakumar Yadav, the explosive Shivam Dube, and the ruthless Rinku Singh. With these three already considered by him, he said that incorporating Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would leave a spot for only a wicketkeeper-batter to be brought into the group.

The exclusion of Hardik doesn't really come as a surprise, with him having had a run-of-the-mill start to the seventeenth edition of the IPL, with the bat and the ball, and if these two weren't enough - with the baton of captaincy too.
