Vidya Balan Says Her First BF Was An A**, Reveals He Cheated On Her: 'He Literally Crushed Me...'

Vidya shared that he cheated on her, recalling how she found out. He literally crushed me that day but I have done better than that in life for myself,” she said. Talking to the publication, Vidya said, “I don’t think they’d be okay even today to star in a Vidya Balan film or a female-led film for that matter. Of course, people have been appreciative, but male stars are uncomfortable with women taking centre stage. I don’t think they’d be okay with anyone stealing the thunder.

Actress Vidya Balan recently talked about a tough experience from her first relationship. In an interview with the Indian Express, she remembered her first boyfriend, albeit, but not in a good way. Vidya shared that he cheated on her, recalling how she found out.

“I have been cheated on. The first boy I dated cheated on me and I have to tell you he was just an a**. I remember we had just broken up and I bumped into him in college on Valentine’s Day and he turned around and said that ‘I am just going to meet my ex-girlfriend for a date.’ And I was like what? He literally crushed me that day but I have done better than that in life for myself,” she said.

During the same conversation, Vidya also revealed that male actors are not comfortable in starring opposite her. The actress mentioned that she has faced reluctance from male stars when it came to sharing screen space with her even though she has delivered successful films.

Talking to the publication, Vidya said, “I don’t think they’d be okay even today to star in a Vidya Balan film or a female-led film for that matter. It’s their loss honestly because we are doing better films than they are. I genuinely believe that. They are doing more formulae-based films, women-led films are far more exciting. Of course, people have been appreciative, but male stars are uncomfortable with women taking centre stage. I don’t think they’d be okay with anyone stealing the thunder. But I never felt bad. I was like if they are threatened, what can I do? (laughs)”

Vidya’s next film, Do Aur Do Pyaar, stars her and Pratik Gandhi alongside Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy. It’s a rom-com about a couple who fall out of love and start seeing other people. But when they reconnect during a holiday, they struggle with how to tell their other partners.
