The latest voice to join the conversation is writer-director Vishal Bhardwaj , who recently shared his views on the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.In an interview with Firstpost, Vishal expressed a conflicting opinion about Animal, stating that he both 'hated' and 'enjoyed' the film simultaneously.He admitted to still being undecided about his overall feelings towards the movie, pointing out the film's ability to evoke both positive and negative emotions."I have still not made up my mind what to feel about that film. Because I enjoyed it and at the same time I hated it," Vishal said.Vishal pondered whether there has been a shift in audience expectations and tastes, particularly referencing recent successful films like Animal."I think the recent hit film is Animal, and all that you are saying is all there. And we have a typical hero too. That’s one of the biggest hits of all time. People still watch and still want that kind of movie. It’s a big surprise that there is a huge audience for that kind of film as well," Vishal remarked.Animal, also starring Bobby Deol , Rashmika Mandanna , Anil Kapoor and Triptii Dimri among others, became an all-time blockbuster with its thundering run in theatres. It managed to gross Rs 900 crore worldwide. The movie met with strong criticism for its portrayal of violence and misogyny.
