Earlier this year, the Government of India announced Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honour in the country, to Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Today, he was presented with this award by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, during the Padma Awards presentation ceremony held at Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi.
Chiru was earlier awarded the Padba Bhushan, the third-highest civilian honour in the country, back in 2006.
Now, after 18 years, he has been awarded with the Padma Vibhushan.

Along with Chiru, his wife Surekha, son Ram Charan and daughter-in-law Upasana Kamineni Konidela attended this event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and a few other cabinet ministers were also present at this event.
Chiru was conferred with this award for his services in the field of Art over the last four and a half decades. He is one of the biggest stars of the country who enjoys a massive fan following among audiences.
