On Sunday, Sunrisers Hyderabad had a forgettable outing in the much-anticipated IPL 2024 final, where Kolkata Knight Riders crushed them by eight wickets to clinch the title for the third time.

Following SRH's gut-wrenching defeat, owner Kavya Maran couldn't control her emotions as she was spotted crying in the stands.

However, Kavya was quick enough to overcome the sorrow and grace the SRH dressing room to motivate her troops.

Despite a horror show in the final, Kavya applauded the SRH players for displaying an aggressive brand of cricket that propelled them to the final.

"You all have made us so proud. I had to come here and tell you that. I mean you have redefined the way we play T20 cricket and everyone is talking about us. The off-day had to happen today, but a really great job, all of you with the bat and ball. Thank you so much," Kavya stated.

She lauded the players' commendable performance until the final, asking them to keep their heads up and be proud of themselves.

"Everyone's talking about us and even though KKR won, I am sure everyone's still going to be talking about the style of cricket we have played. Thank you guys, take care and don't look like this," she added.

The Orange Army were particularly lethal with the bat as Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen butchered the opponent bowling attacks for fun.

However, the deadly trio's failure in the final proved costly for SRH, who conceded the trophy to KKR without even putting up a fight.
