Team India decimated USA with seven wickets and nearly two overs to spare at New York’s Nassau County Stadium to register their third successive win of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube played starring roles with the bat in the run-chase after fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya restricted the USA line-up to just 110-8 upfront.

At one stage during the USA innings, Indian superstar Virat Kohli became the center of attraction for a passionate section of the crowd, who cheered for the legendary cricketer as he was walking his way near the boundary line.

The crowd in contention even came up with a hilarious chant in unison, where they jokingly described Kohli as their top politician choice.

A section of Indian fans decided to pile on general election season during India’s 2024 T20 World Cup Group A match against USA in New York.

Just as Virat Kohli was walking near the boundary line, a number of fans hilariously described the cricketer as their top-voting choice and chanted: “Hamara Neta Kaisa Ho, Virat Kohli Jaisa Ho!”

Virat Kohli, however, failed to perform on the day as he was dismissed for a first-ball duck by USA fast bowler Saurabh Netravalkar.

Despite his dismissal, Team India romped to an easy win courtesy of splendid run-chase knocks from Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube.

The win over USA helped Team India qualify for the Super Eight stage of the competition. They will now be joined by Australia and Afghanistan alongside one more team from Group D from June 20 onwards.
