Riding on Gulbadin Naib's exceptional bowling spell, Afghanistan have given Australia a run for their money in their ongoing Super Eights clash at Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent. After dismissing Marcus Stoinis and Tim David, Gulbadin got rid of Afghanistan's World Cup nemesis, Glenn Maxwell, to push Australia on the back foot.

The incident occurred during the 15th over of Australia's innings when Maxwell was single-handedly powering them towards the target.

Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan's decision to continue Gulbadin from one end did the trick as the medium pacer dismissed Maxwell.

After bowling three good deliveries and conceding only a run, Gulbadin bowled a good length ball around the fourth stump line, inviting Maxwell for a lofted shot. The batter fell in the trap as he played it in the air, giving Afghanistan a chance to get him out.

As the ball travelled quickly through the off side, Noor Ahmad dived forward to take an absolute blinder.

Gulbadin went on to deceive Pat Cummins with a beauty and cleaned him up. Meanwhile, Australia were on the verge of a defeat, tottering at 113 for nine in 17.2 overs as of writing.
