Gujarat Titans' skipper Shubman Gill lost his cool during his side's ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Rajasthan Royals.

Gill, who was named the GT skipper following Hardik Pandya's dramatic return to Mumbai Indians, argued with the on-field umpire over a controversial wide call during the high-voltage face-off.

The incident occurred during the 17th over of the Royals' innings when the in-form Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson were guiding them towards a formidable total.

GT's wrecker-in-chief with the ball, Mohit Sharma, began the over on a poor note, conceding ten runs off his first five deliveries.

However, it was his last delivery that stole the limelight. In a bid to save himself from the wrath of Sanju Samson, Mohit bowled it way outside the off stump, with the on-field umpire declaring it a wide ball.

Meanwhile, Shubman Gill, unsatisfied with the decision, went upstairs straightaway. However, unfortunately for the Titans, the review was unsuccessful, as the TV umpire asked his on-field colleague to stay with his original decision.

As soon as the third umpire made the final call, Gill was visibly frustrated, as he thought it to be a legal delivery. He expressed his frustration immediately, being involved in a heated exchange with the on-field umpire.

Regarding the game, scintillating knocks from Parag and Samson led RR's fightback after early dismissals of Jaiswal and Buttler. As of writing, the hosts were 172 for three in 18.4 overs, aiming to finish things on a high note.
