The state-run Indian telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL ) has quietly introduced two new prepaid programs for its prepaid clientele. The telecom has been having trouble launching 4G, but it never stops coming up with fresh deals and incentives to keep users on the network and entertained. The new plans have prices of R.s 58 and Rs. 59. Whereas the Rs. 59 plan is a regular service validity prepaid plan, the Rs. 58 plan is a data voucher. Here, we have explained their benefits.

BSNL Prepaid Plan for Rs. 58 The Rs. 58 prepaid plan from BSNL is a data voucher, and in order to take advantage of its benefits, the user must maintain an active plan. 2GB of data per day and 7 days of validity are included in the Rs. 58 package. The speed decreases to 40 Kbps once the fair use policy (FUP) data has been used.

BSNL Prepaid Plan for Rs. 59 The Rs. 59 prepaid package from BSNL has a seven-day service validity. Unlimited voice calling and 1GB of data per day are included with this plan. This package does not come with any SMS features included. The daily cost of this plan is Rs. 8.43, which is very expensive given that commercial mobile companies offer better-value plans if you are willing to pay more for a longer service validity.

Whatever the case, the telco's low-income consumers will value these options. With these plans, they can also affordably use their secondary BSNL SIM for a short period of time. Plans like this won't increase BSNL's average revenue per user (ARPU), but they might help the company attract new consumers and hold onto its current clientele.

In order to increase income and gain a larger portion of the subscriber market share, the state-run telco is currently in dire need of 4G.
