3 Exciting Affordable Cars Coming From Hyundai & Kia

Hyundai and Kia have never shied away from trying out different products in the Indian market. According to reports, this electric RV is none other than an electric version of the Carens. Carens EV

At the launch of the Carens, Kia had stated that it would launch an electric RV in 2025. According to reports, this electric RV is none other than an electric version of the Carens. Kia is already testing the car and its launch is expected in the second half of 2025. On the EV version, expect some subtle design changes over the ICE model. Kia reportedly is working on a new motor and battery option for this EV. It should get a claimed range of around 450km. Feature-wise, expect a bigger touchscreen, ADAS, panoramic sunroof and more on this EV version. If Kia plays its cards properly, the Carens will become the first electric MPV in India.

Exciting affordable cars – Creta EV

Hyundai is working on the electric version of the Creta. It is not going to be a ground-up EV, but rather Hyundai is just making some changes to accommodate the motor and battery pack. The car has been spied a few times showcasing a design similar to the Creta N Line. Interiors could be the same story, but with more features to attract customers. The Creta EV is rumoured to come with a 45kWh battery pack that should give it a claimed range of around 450km to 480km. Motor specs could be similar to the Kona sold abroad. Hyundai is expected to launch the Creta EV by early 2025. The SUV will possibly be priced between Rs 20 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) to Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Kia Clavis

The Clavis is a very interesting product from Kia and will technically face no competition in the Indian market. According to reports, the Clavis will be sub-4m like the Sonet but will come with features from the Seltos. In a way, the Clavis is targeted at buyers who need high-end features, but want a compact car. The car has been spied a few times further confirming these reports. It has been spotted with features like a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 12 parking sensors (6 in front & 6 at the rear) and flush door handles. The Clavis is going to come with both ICE and EV powertrain options. There are also reports of it getting a hybrid powertrain in the future.
