Apple Watch X 2024 Leaks: Apple Watch Series 10 will likely launch next to the iPhone 16 series in September 2024. As the wearable completes its tenth anniversary this year, Apple will likely introduce major changes and improvements to make it a worthy upgrade over the Apple Watch Series 9. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has already tipped a thinner dial and magnetic bands for the wearable.

Upgraded Display and Design: Apple may modernise the design and reduce the thickness of the dial by 10-15 per cent, according to AppleTrack. Apple Watch X could get thinner bezels and an OLED screen. This display may offer better power efficiency for AOD mode via a lower minimum refresh rate. Citing The Elec, MacRumors reported the screen could get a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) technology.

New Magnetic Band System: The Watch X could offer a magnetic band linking apparatus to allow more room to fit in a bigger battery or components. In the current system, Watch Series 9 gets a slide-in mechanism for watch bands that takes up room in the dial.

Blood Pressure Monitoring: Mark Gurman speculates Apple may bring blood pressure monitoring to the Apple Watch this year to detect hypertension. While it may not return systolic and diastolic readings, the Watch could inform users of an upward trend. While informing users of hypertension, it may record the wearer's last activity.

Sleep Apnea Detection: Upcoming Watch X could get a sleep apnea detection feature. For the uninitiated, sleep apnea is a "sleeping disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts," according to Mayo Clinic. To detect the symptoms, Apple could use sleep history and breathing activity.

Bigger Battery: Considering the upgraded display and the magnetic band attachment, Apple may significantly improve the battery backup of the Watch Series 10. For context, Apple touts up to 18 hours of battery life (in normal use) on the Watch Series 9.

As for the release, while this may be a rare possibility, Apple could shift the launch of the Apple Watch Series 10 to 2025, similar to the release of the Apple Watch in April 2015 after the September 2014 announcement. Lastly, readers must note that Apple has not confirmed the development of the Watch X or Watch Series 10 at the time of filing. Hence, these leaks may or may not materialise.
