Are Indian stock markets NSE & BSE open today for trading?

Indian stock exchanges NSE and BSE will remain closed for trading today on account of Eid-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Id). Meanwhile, the country's largest commodity market, the Multi Commodity Exchange of India MCX ), will see no trading in the morning session between 9 am and 5 pm but will resume trading in the evening session between 5 pm and 11:30/11:55 pm.Non-agri commodity exchange National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange ( NCDEX ) will also remain shut for both sessions.The domestic equity markets will be closed on one more occasion in April. On April 17, 2024, the country will observe Ramnavmi . On this day, the MCX will open in the evening session while NCDEX will be closed in both sessions.Equity markets will remain closed for two days in May. In June, July, August, October and December, markets will be shut once; in November, it will be shut twice. November 1, Friday, will be Diwali (Laxmi Pujan) and Muhurat Trading will be conducted by the exchanges.Any change in the holiday calendar will be announced through a separate circular in advance.As per the BSE holiday calendar, trading holidays have been announced on 15 days in 2024. So far, they have been closed on four occasions this year -- Once on January 26 which is the Republic Day and three times in March on account of Maha Shivratri, Holi and Good Friday.Indian benchmark indices ended in the green on Wednesday amid buying action across sectors with FMCG, metal and energy seeing maximum action. The S&P BSE Sensex ended the session at 75,038.15, up by 354.45 points or 0.47%.
