Bank Account Closed: Big news for bank customers! These bank accounts will be closed after one month, order issued

Bank Account Closed: According to the bank, this step will be taken to prevent misuse of such accounts. The bank has warned the customers that if there has not been any transaction in their account for the last three years. Also, if there is no outstanding amount in the account then such accounts will be closed after one month. Such customers of the bank can make UPI payment by scanning any Indian QR code, using UPI ID or sending money to any Indian mobile number or Indian bank account. Earlier, expatriates had to register an Indian mobile number with their banks to make UPI payments.

PNB Alert: If your account is in public sector Punjab National Bank (PNB), then this news is for you. The bank has warned the customers that if there has not been any transaction in their account for the last three years. Also, if there is no outstanding amount in the account then such accounts will be closed after one month. According to the bank, this step will be taken to prevent misuse of such accounts. The bank has decided to close such accounts to avoid any kind of risk. It was told by the bank that the calculation of three years will be done till 30th April.

There will be no impact on such accounts

Demat Account Linked Accounts, Standing Instruction with Active Locker, Accounts of Customers Below 25 Years of Age, Minor Accounts, Sukanya Samriddhi, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), PMSBY, APY, DBT Accounts opened for DBT will not be closed. Apart from this, accounts frozen on the orders of court, Income Tax Department or any other statutory authority will also not be closed under this.

Tremendous increase in daily payment facility

On the other hand, private sector ICICI Bank is providing the facility to NRI customers to use international mobile numbers to make UPI payments in India. Such customers of the bank can make UPI payment by scanning any Indian QR code, using UPI ID or sending money to any Indian mobile number or Indian bank account. The bank said that this has tremendously increased their facility of making daily payments.

Earlier this facility was there

With this facility, NRI customers of the Bank can make payments for their bill, merchant and e-commerce transactions with the international mobile number registered in their NRE/NRO bank account with ICICI Bank in the country. The bank has provided this service through its mobile banking app iMobile Pay. Earlier, expatriates had to register an Indian mobile number with their banks to make UPI payments.
