Bengaluru man's chat with scammer reveals their techniques. Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma reacts

Chetty Arun, who was absolutely annoyed with fraudsters trying to scam him on WhatsApp, decided to call one up and “bash him”. However, he decided against it and what ensued was a light-hearted exchange between the two with the scammer even revealing his techniques. Arun, who works as a culture head at Razorpay, received an APK file on his WhatsApp. “I swear this was more entertaining than any comedy show,” one user wrote.

Chetty Arun, who was absolutely annoyed with fraudsters trying to scam him on WhatsApp, decided to call one up and “bash him”. However, he decided against it and what ensued was a light-hearted exchange between the two with the scammer even revealing his techniques.

Arun, who works as a culture head at Razorpay, received an APK file on his WhatsApp. However, he was informed that the file, if downloaded, will forward all his messages on the scammer’s number. The fraudster also mentioned that they use OTPs that come on the victim’s number and then use them to sign up for e-commerce websites to steal money.

The scammer also warned Arun against downloading any suspicious files on his phone. The conversation took an interesting turn when the fraudster congratulated Arun for his upcoming wedding. They even wished each other well before ending the unexpected interaction.

According to the scammer, if one installs a malicious file by any chance, they should immedietaly reset their phone.

No points in guessing that Arun’s post went viral online and even amassed over two million views. Social media users were simply amused and flocked to the comments section with their thoughts.

“I swear this was more entertaining than any comedy show,” one user wrote. Another user commented, “This was too good but also should be shared for public awareness.”

The thread also caught the attention of Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma. He retweeted it and wrote, “You won’t stop till you read this full thread!”
