A couple of months back, Citroen released images of the Europe-spec C3 Aircross, which is completely different from its namesake sold in India. The French carmaker has now officially introduced the same in the European market. As mentioned previously, the European C3 Aircross will be available in both combustion engine and fully electric versions.
In this article, we’ll keep the focus on the battery-powered derivative of the C3 Aircross. Prices for the all-electric C3 Aircross starts at EUR 27,400 (equivalent to Rs 24.55 lakh). Unlike the India-spec C3 Aircross which is underpinned by the Common Modular Platform (CMP), its European counterpart is based on the new Smart Car architecture.
Citroen C3 Aircross EV: Design
As mentioned previously, the Europe-spec C3 Aircross is sharper than its Indian namesake courtesy of some prominent creases. Adding sharpness to the design is a brand new front fascia, a sealed-off nose with Citroen’s new logo at the centre. A sleek outlet for the radiator grille underlying the nose, is flanked by redesigned C-shaped headlamp clusters housing tri-LED projector lights and multiple LED DRLs.

The rear end is largely similar, barring the chevron pattern on the tailgate and bumper, complemented by the Citroen double-chevron logo. The SUV rolls on 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The European C3 Aircross is also significantly longer at 4.39 metre as compared to the India-spec version which measures 4.32 metre.
Citroen C3 Aircross EV: Powertrain
Powering the C3 Aircross EV is a 44 kWh LFP battery sending energy to a front axle-mounted 83 kW/113 bhp electric motor. Citroen claims a range of 300 km on a single charge and a top speed of 145 kmph for the all-electric C3 Aircross. Citroen is offering two AC charging options for the C3 Aircross EV– 7kW and 11kW. The former takes 4 hours 10 minutes while the latter takes 2 hours 50 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80%.

The battery can support DC charging up to 100 kW which takes just 26 minutes to replenish the battery from 20% to 80%. Citroen is also working on a larger battery pack for the C3 Aircross whose single-charge range will extend beyond 400km. This variant of the C3 Aircross EV is expected to break covers sometime next year.
