Tata Hexa
The Hexa was one of the initial cars of Tata’s new era. It was trying to crack the code for the Indian market. As a product, the Hexa was quite a capable one and still has a cult following. Some of its pros include the best-in-class cabin space, 2.2-litre Varicor engine, etc. However, the car had quality issues, which would have only increased over the years on a used car. As the car was discontinued in 2020, procuring parts for it could become quite a task in a few years.
Nissan Kicks
The Kicks was one of the early competitors to the Creta. It was quite a competent product back then, but its crossover-like design hampered its sales. Nissan never recovered from it and the low demand led to the car being discontinued. We don’t recommend it as service and spares can be a major issue. The service network of Nissan isn’t widespread and parts of this SUV are difficult to procure.

Second hand cars – Datsun Redi-Go
The Redi-Go was one of the most affordable options in India. Datsun hoped it would have done well in the market, but it had a horrid time in the country. The car was plagued with frequent breakdowns giving it a bad image. Also, the vehicle had a fragile suspension setup. With so many problems and Datsun having left India, it is best to stay away from the Redi-Go.
