Google’s Gmail App On Android Gets Quick Reply Feature; See How It Works
Quick Reply allows the users to reply to emails without opening the compose box.
As of now, the new feature is being rolled out gradually to Gmail users on Android.
Google, known for constantly innovating new ideas, has launched a new feature to streamline the process of replying to emails. The new feature “Quick Reply,” after months of testing and redesigning will be available on the Gmail app for Android. The Quick Reply feature allows users to reply to emails without following the obvious steps of composing the emails. The new feature, like its name, will offer its users the quickest way to reply to emails.
How Quick Reply Works
Earlier, to reply to a mail users had to click on the reply button at the bottom of the mail to open the compose box on the screen. Here users would phrase the whole reply and then click on the send button.
In order to streamline the process of replying, Google has now added a textbox at the bottom of the screen with all the previous reply options in it. The options are reply, reply all, and forward.
The software giant, acknowledging the importance of the attachment feature has also included this feature in the text box from where users can attach documents, photos, and videos. On the right side of the textbox, the emoji icon is available.
The users who find the old method of replying more convenient can also access the compose box by expanding the text box.
Benefits of Quick Reply
Like any other text-messaging app, the Quick Reply feature is highly beneficial for replying to emails with quick, short responses. The new option cuts out all the unnecessary steps of switching screens to open the compose box and allows the users to quickly reply to an email.
The textbox like any other instant-messaging app textbox brings familiarity and ease of access to users. It also allows the users to refer to the texts they were replying to.
As of now, the new feature is being rolled out gradually to Gmail users on Android and will be available to all users soon.
The US-based giant is also expected to bring out the Gemini button on Gmail. Gemini, previously known as Bard is Google’s AI chatbox like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
