Intel now has optimised 500 AI models on its Core Ultra processors

Intel announced today that it had surpassed 500 AI models optimized to run on its new Intel Core Ultra processors, marking a significant milestone in the company's efforts to drive the AI PC transformation. The Intel Core Ultra processor, recognized as the industry's premier AI PC processor, offers enhanced AI experiences, immersive graphics, and optimal battery life. The 500 optimised models, which can be deployed across the CPU, GPU, and NPU, are available through popular industry sources such as OpenVINO Model Zoo, Hugging Face , ONNX Model Zoo, and PyTorch .The models span over 20 categories of AI, including large language, diffusion, super-resolution, object detection, image classification/segmentation, computer vision, and others.Robert Hallock , Intel vice president and general manager of AI and technical marketing in the Client Computing Group, emphasised the company's commitment to building a robust toolchain for AI developers and a solid foundation for AI software users. The Intel Core Ultra processor has become the fastest-growing AI PC processor to date, selling more units in a single quarter than competing processors in all of 2023.AI models form the backbone of AI-enhanced software features, and the number of enabled and optimised models directly correlates with the breadth of user-facing AI features that can be brought to market. OpenVINO optimises for Intel Core Ultra by load-balancing across compute units, compressing models for efficient AI PC operation, and optimising runtime to leverage the processor's memory bandwidth and core architecture.Developers in Intel's AI PC Developer Program can access tools, workflows, and AI-deployment frameworks for Intel Core Ultra processors, as well as software tools for optimising AI, multi architecture programming, gaming, media, and rendering on the AI PC.
