LIC dividend 2024 News: The state-run Life Insurance Corporation of India ( LIC ) has announced a 60 per cent dividend payment on each stock for the financial year 2023-24. A dividend is a company's reward to its investors for their investment in the business. It is paid in cash from earnings.

Shares of LIC closed in green on Friday at Rs 992 apiece, up 0.03 per cent. The scrip registered a high of Rs 1014 and a low of Rs 985.20. More than 27.31 lakh equity shares changed hands at the same time. The company has a total market cap of Rs 6,27,439.77 crore, according to NSE.

A dividend is always calculated and paid on the face value of each stock. Accordingly, a 60 per cent dividend translates into Rs 6 per equity share on the face value of Re 10.
"Recommended a final dividend of Rs. 6/- per equity share for the financial year ended March 31, 2024,” the company said in an exchange filing.
