Mahindra XUV 3XO teased again, gets remote climate control via AdrenoX

Besides a new name, the XUV 3XO will receive plenty of cosmetic upgrades along with some new features. Mahindra will borrow the AdrenoX smart connect suite from XUV700 which offers a wide array of connected car features.

It is no big secret that Mahindra will be launching a facelifted XUV300 soon. Earlier this month, Mahindra teased the facelifted XUV300 on its social media platforms where it was revealed that the subcompact SUV will be rebranded as ‘XUV 3XO’ in its updated avatar.

First launched in 2018, this will be the first major upgrade to the XUV300 which will make its debut on April 29. Besides a new name, the XUV 3XO will receive plenty of cosmetic upgrades along with some new features. Ahead of its debut, Mahindra has officially teased the XUV 3XO highlighting a new feature on board the sub-4 metre SUV.

From previous spy images, it is evident the Mahindra XUV 3XO wll receive plenty of cosmetic and feature upgrades over the outgoing model. In the latest teaser, Mahindra has revealed that the upcoming XUV300 facelift will get a new climate control system which can be controlled remotely via the smartphone.

That said, the XUV 3XO won’t be the first in its segment to get this feature, since models like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon already offer remote automatic climate control in their respective kits. This feature is part of the connected car suite which is offered in the AdrenoX Connect, co-developed by Bosch. This enables users to control the cabin temperature through smartphone or smartwatches.

Other novelties expected to make their way to the XUV 3XO are a projector LED headlamps and fog lamps, larger 10.2-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.2-inch instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, a premium audio system, and ventilated front seats. Safety features are likely to include 6 airbags, electronic stability program, traction control. It will be interesting to see if Mahindra adds the option of ADAS in higher-spec trims of the XUV 3XO.

Mahindra XUV 3XO: Expected powertrain specs

Mahindra is likely to retain the same powertrain lineup as the current XUV300. Petrol engine options will include the same 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine delivering 109 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque, and a higher-spec 1.2-litre T-GDI mStallion turbo petrol unit churning out 128 bhp power and 250 Nm torque.

Mahindra will continue to offer a 1.5-litre diesel mill which pumps out 115 bhp power and 300 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT. Rumours suggest an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter automatic to be added as an option as well. An all-electric version of the XUV 3XO is possibly in works which should sit below the existing XUV400 Pro.
