Microsoft Surface Laptop 6 surfaces on Geekbench listing, reveals performance figures, features and more

As per the listing, the laptop comes with 16GB RAM. However, the surprising part is that the listing shows that the laptop is powered by a chipset that does not exist -- Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.However, based on other details like the number of core counts and model number, it indicates the Snapdragon X Elite chipset powering the laptop. The chipset features 12-cores all-high performance cores unlike Intel and Apple’s high performance and efficiency core setup to boost the power efficiency of the chip.Having said that, Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon X Elite will deliver better performance as well as efficiency without the efficiency cores.

Qualcomm is getting aggressive with its new ARM-baed Snapdragon X Elite chipset. Recently, a Samsung laptop powered by the chip was spotted and now, Surface Laptop 6 has surfaced on the Geekbench listing, confirming the existence of the device along with features, performance numbers and more.As per the Geekbench listings, four Surface Laptop 6 with the codename “OEMBR OEMBR” have been tested.Based on the scores, the devices have managed to score as high as 14,078 points in multi-core and 2,714 points in single-core tests. Considering it is an ARM-based device, the numbers are impressive.Geekbench listing also reveals other specification details of the Surface Laptop 6. As per the listing, the laptop comes with 16GB RAM. However, the surprising part is that the listing shows that the laptop is powered by a chipset that does not exist -- Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.However, based on other details like the number of core counts and model number, it indicates the Snapdragon X Elite chipset powering the laptop. Also, this is not the first time when Microsoft has faked the chipset name to prevent it from appearing in leaks and rumours ahead of the official launch.Meanwhile, Snapdragon X Elite is Qualcomm’s most powered PC chipset to date which is powered by the company’s Oryon cores which was announced at the Snapdragon Summit last year. The chipset features 12-cores all-high performance cores unlike Intel and Apple’s high performance and efficiency core setup to boost the power efficiency of the chip.Having said that, Qualcomm claims that the Snapdragon X Elite will deliver better performance as well as efficiency without the efficiency cores. And, it will run Windows games just like that.
