Last week was a big one for India's budget 5G segment with the release of three new handsets in the country. These included the Realme P1 5G, Moto G64 5G, and Vivo T3x 5G.

All three smartphones arrive in the country's sub-15K segment and feature formidable spec sheets. But which of the three is the best smartphone under Rs 15,000 in India in 2024? Let's find out!

Moto G64 5G vs Vivo T3x 5G vs Realme P1 5G: Full Specs Compared

Design, Display, Build

All three phones here feature glass protection on the front and plastic back panels and frames. Additionally, they opt for a water-repellent design. The one difference here is the superior IP rating on the Vivo T3x 5G.

Considering the build quality is similar across the board and design is preferential, we'd have to call this one a three-way tie. If you ask us, we prefer the Moto G64 5G's subtle finish and camera layout.

There is no competition in the display department as Realme comes out on top with its AMOLED screen over the LCD competition. Realme also features the brightest screen on the bunch, but the higher brightness of the LCD screens ensures better clarity under direct sunlight. However, for content consumption, the Realme P1 5G wins hands-down.

Performance, Battery

In terms of performance, there is little separating the three phones. There is very little separating the three phones on the performance front with benchmarks showing miniscule differences. However, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 will have a slight advantage for gaming.

The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 SoC is the weakest of the bunch but is still a strong performer in the segment. Additionally, the base version of the Moto G64 5G also comes with the highest RAM capacity to bridge that performance gap. However, in our opinion, the Vivo T3x 5G edges out the competition in terms of price to performance.

When it comes to battery capacity, the Vivo T3x 5G and Moto G64 5G offer a massive cell, over 20% larger than the Realme P1 5G. Moreover, the Vivo T3x 5G's 4nm chip is also the most power efficient of the lot.

Lastly, charging speed on the Vivo T3x 5G and Realme P1 5G are nearly similar, although the Moto G64 5G falls behind in this area. It is worth noting that Vivo and Realme promise four years of fluid battery performance, retaining over 80% of its capacity for 36 months.

Cameras, Software

All three smartphones feature a dual-camera setup with 50 MP primary sensors. Both the Vivo T3x 5G and Realme P1 5G opt for secondary 2 MP depth sensors, while the Moto G64 5G opts for an 8 MP ultrawide shooter with autofocus. This gives the G64 5G a major advantage.

Moreover, the Moto G64 5G's main camera also supports OIS. Up front, the Vivo T3x 5G's 8 MP selfie camera is the weakest of the bunch. While Motorola and Realme both opt for a 16 MP front camera, the latter offers HDR support. When it comes to cameras, the Moto G64 5G is the undisputed winner here.

Moving on to the software side and all three smartphones run the latest version of Android 14 out of the box. All three handsets also come with their own custom skins on top of Android 14. While Realme UI and Funtouch OS do have their fair share of bloatware, Motorola offers a near-stock Android experience.

Moto G64 5G vs Vivo T3x 5G vs Realme P1 5G: Conclusion

What the Motorola G64 5G lacks in performance, it more than makes up for in overall smartphone experience. It offers the most versatile cameras and cleanest interface in the segment. The Moto G64 5G also delivers excellent battery life and a super-smooth display.

The Vivo T3x 5G offers the best chipset, battery life, and fast charging in the segment. It also offers the best water resistance, a super-smooth display, and a sleek design. However, its software requires refinement, while the camera system falls short of the competition, particularly on the front.

Lastly, we have the Realme P1 5G, which offers performance comparable to or in some cases better than the Vivo T3x 5G. It also the second-best camera setup of any smartphone on the list and has the best display on the segment. It does come with a smaller battery and the software experience can feel lackluster. But its AMOLED display makes it the best phone on this list for content consumption.
