The vegan leather variants are more conventional so to speak, the sort of thing that Motorola has been doing for sometime now even until recently with the Moto Edge 50 Pro and Moto Edge 50 Fusion.
The Moto Edge 50 Ultra is IP68 rated as well.

Motorola Edge 50 Ultra India launch has been confirmed. Motorola took to X, the platform previously known as Twitter, to formally announce the imminent launch of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 toting Moto Edge 50 Ultra. The exact launch date is yet to be announced.
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra comes in a choice of vegan leather and wood. Naturally, Motorola is kicking off its marketing campaign with the “Nordic Wood” variant which is said to be made out of actual wood fibres. Motorola claims to be using a special coating on top of the panel to protect the unique texture from water and skin oil, so it won’t damage or change colours. The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra has a 6.7-inch p-OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate. The panel can top 2,500 nits, Motorola says, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The outer frame is sleek and made out of aluminium.

Powering the Moto Edge 50 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 125W fast wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone also supports reverse wireless charging at up to 10W. Running the show is Android 14. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Biomimetics are handled by an under-display fingerprint reader. You also get stereo speakers and Motorola’s “Ready For” support.
For photography, the Moto Edge 50 Ultra has a trio of sensors on the back including a 50-megapixel main with f/1.6 OIS lens, 64-megapixel 3x telephoto, and another 50-megapixel ultra wide with autofocus so it can double as a macro. The front camera is a 50-megapixel f/1.9.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra comes with 12 and 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, though the likelihood of the top-end 16GB/1TB variant coming to India is slim. The phone will compete with the Xiaomi 14 Civi which is launching in India on June 12 and the Realme GT 6 which arrives on June 20.
