What about the hybrid version? So, we can expect a starting price of around Rs 12 lakh and going to Rs 24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

With its current lineup updated, Kia is now looking to expand itself in the Indian market. It is planning several imports like the Carnival and EV(. However, its next blockbuster car is going to be a product that will sit between the Sonet and Seltos. We have been covering it as Clavis, but it could get a completely different name. New name

Kia has got a new trademark approved, which is the Syros. It could be the name it uses on its new sub-4m SUV that will sit between the Sonet and Seltos in its product. What about the Clavis nameplate? Kia generally uses names starting with ‘S’ for its ICE SUVs. The ICE version could get the Syros nameplate, while the EV version could get the Clavis moniker. Do note that all this is just speculation, and Kia could use a completely different name on its new SUV.

What else do we know?

The Syros or Clavis has been spotted testing a few times. It comes with a boxy design language with vertical LED DRLs and LED headlamps. Overall, the Clavis looks like an Exter rival, but Kia wants to position it above the Sonet. To achieve this, the Syros/Clavis will come with features from Seltos like a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, 12 parking sensors (6 in front & 6 at the rear) and flush door handles. As mentioned above, the new SUV will come with both ICE and EV options. There are also rumours that it will get a hybrid powertrain in the future.
