Introduced in July 2022, the device has since received several software updates.

Users can manually check for the update by accessing Settings > System > System Update > Download > Install on their phone. If the update is not available yet, it should arrive within the next few days.
The Nothing OS 2.5.5 update introduces a new gesture option within the Nothing X application for Nothing Phone 1 users. This feature enables users to initiate voice conversations with ChatGPT. To utilise this feature, users must have the latest version of ChatGPT from the official Play Store installed on their devices. The company has confirmed that ChatGPT integration will be extended to other Nothing audio products in the near future.
In addition to the aforementioned features, Nothing Phone 1 users receive a new ChatGPT widget for quick and convenient access directly from the home screen. Furthermore, the update includes a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up, enabling users to paste content directly into a new ChatGPT conversation.
The Nothing OS 2.5.5 update for Phone 1 introduces an option for the Nothing Icon Pack to be exclusively applied to the Home Screen, aimed at enhancing App Drawer accessibility. Additionally, users can now scroll through pages on the Home Screen while holding app icons for reorganisation on the handset.
