Realme teases a more powerful Realme GT 6 variant, coming next month

Realme recently launched the flagship-killer GT 6 and before that, the more affordable GT 6T. But now the company and its VP Chase Xu have taken to Weibo to tease a proper flagship model in the GT 6 series. Is this a Realme GT 6 Pro? The VP revealed that Realme plans to launch at least 2 GT phones per year and hinted that this will eventually include a GT Pro model. The Realme GT 6 is based on the GT Neo6 and the GT 6T is based on the GT Neo6 SE, both of which were introduced in China first.

Realme recently launched the flagship-killer GT 6 and before that, the more affordable GT 6T. But now the company and its VP Chase Xu have taken to Weibo to tease a proper flagship model in the GT 6 series. Is this a Realme GT 6 Pro? We will find out next month.

For now, we have this image to look at. The device is all but completely under wraps, however, that camera island is looking beefier than what’s on the GT 6 – and that model already has a pretty impressive camera setup for its segment.

A teaser for a flagship Realme GT 6 phone

Leakster Digital Chat Station commented under Chase Xu’s post, saying “It must have ‘pure flat screen’ and ‘super 100W silicon anode battery’, metal frame and glass body.”

We’re not sure whether that’s a wish list or a hint of what’s to come. The plastic build is indeed one of the areas where the GT 6 slips below a flagship level. But a curved display is something of a trademark for the GT 6 family, whether you like it or not.

As for the battery, both current models already do 120W charging, though with standard lithium batteries. Lithium-silicon batteries are cutting edge tech that offers higher capacity than traditional lithium designs. Alternatively, they can be smaller for the same capacity. In a separate post, DCS mentions a 6,000mAh battery (rated capacity, typical 6,100-6,200mAh), but doesn't make it clear whether this is for the Realme or a different device. It's possible that Realme will use the higher density tech to make a physically smaller battery with 5,500mAh capacity instead.

We spoke with Chase Xu during the GT 6 launch. The VP revealed that Realme plans to launch at least 2 GT phones per year and hinted that this will eventually include a GT Pro model. Or we thought that it meant “eventually”, not “next month”.

Anyway, the new model will most likely launch in China first, but that doesn’t mean it won’t come to the global market. The Realme GT 6 is based on the GT Neo6 and the GT 6T is based on the GT Neo6 SE, both of which were introduced in China first.
